TCMBA #11 - What is Fermentation in Coffee?

I’m eyeballs deep in moving out of my house so I thought this week we could dive into the archives!

While working for Counter Culture Coffee, I led a team of Educators on a project to explore the stage of coffee processing called "fermentation."

This is the resulting talk.

In the video, you'll hear me explain that calling this stage "fermentation" might be misleading. At the time, the kombucha craze was really taking off and there was a lot of discussion around inoculating fermentation tanks with yeast. So, we tried (and maybe weren't totally successful based on the comments 😆) to pull those things apart.

Also, I’m just noticing that this video has been viewed 42,000 times! 🙈 Woah! I can’t believe that many people care about coffee fermentation! That’s great!
